What a fabulous retro piece!  This superb sectional bureau bookcase, circa 1950’s-1960’s, also known as a barrister / lawyer bookcase, was made by highly regarded cabinet makers of the time; Minty Library Specialists, Oxford (makers plate on the top section). 

An ingenious design, it comprises of four separate sections; glass section, drop down writing desk section, cabinet section and drawers.  The slimline design of this multi-function piece allows it to suit many settings including ones that are space-challenged.
 
It features; solid English oak construction, high quality craftsmanship, magnificent wood grain figuring, glass display comprising of two sliding glass doors, drop down writing desk revealing pigeon holes, an internal drawer and a beautiful timber writing top supported by metal struts, two cabinet doors revealing a generous storage area, three dovetail joined drawers, beautifully crafted separate and contrasting timber features forming the boarders on the drop down bureau and the cabinet doors as well as recessed edging on the drawers, complete matching set metal handles and original castors.
