Chinese Wedding Cabinet – Antique Style – Beautiful Timber Grain

Chinese wedding cabinets were often the centrepiece of a bride's dowry. This beautiful example of a Chinese wedding cabinet, with the eye-catching round brass plate, delightful handles and intricate fret work will make an outstanding statement in any room of the house; in the bedroom as a wardrobe, in the living room as a TV cabinet – in fact in any room; this large cabinet has unlimited storage options and uses.  Whatever you choose to use it for, it will command a strong eye-catching presence in any room and will no doubt attract many comments.

A truly gorgeous piece of furniture, this Chinese wedding cabinet has a very warm golden honey colour wood finish, the depth of which is enhanced by the exceptional wood grain on both sides and the front.  I believe the timber is elm but cannot be certain.

When the doors are open, two additional drawers are revealed together with a hanging rail and a shelf.  The wedding cabinet has been used as a TV cabinet; however the shelf can be easily removed to allow for hanging clothes.

Externally the wedding cabinet is in very good condition with signs of wear and tear which adds to its overall charm and character.  The inside has suffered a little more damage; a past owner decided to put their initials on the inside as well for who knows what reason!  Please refer to pictures which show the internal damage.  Having said this, it really does not detract from the piece as the beautiful features really outshine its defects.
