This gorgeous piece was made in Melbourne by Burgess Furniture. Burgess commenced business in Melbourne in 1869, moved from Collingwood to Preston in 1958 and sadly, due to economic pressures closed their doors in 2005. Burgess Furniture today is still a brand synonymous with quality, hence the ongoing popularity of their pieces.

Condition overview; this beautifully crafted piece is solid and sturdy and all of the drawers work seamlessly. It has general wear consistent with use as well as a couple of surface marks on the top. There is a small area of damage on the underside of the top on the left-hand side but all in all it is a lovely chest of drawers
