A fabulous example of mid-century modern design; even though there are no makers marks, we are pretty certain it was made in Melbourne, Australia by Atel Furniture Pty Ltd.  The firm was established in 1963 in Bathurst (NSW) and was liquidated in 1982.  They were renown for producing high quality, stylish and multi-functional units.  It features;

• teak timber, teak timber veneer, cam & pin construction
• circa early to mid1960’s
• 4 tier bookcase
• 2 door cabinet
• complete & matching timber knobs
• 3 height adjustable timber shelves (x 2 bookcase, x 1 cabinet)
• due to the cam & pin fittings, the top can be fully dismantled leaving the base as one piece, making it easy to transport

Condition overview; in good condition relative to its age, it is a solid, well-made piece.  The doors work well.  As can be expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock and surface marks but nothing major to note

Dimensions; 900mm wide x 455mm deep x 930mm high.  To top of cabinet: 725mm high.  Internal cabinet depth; 420mm deep.  Internal bookcase depth; 275mm deep.  Shelf height clearance above cabinet: 440mm high
