This superb hand-crafted English-made piece is a fabulous example of furniture distributed by Buckley & Nunn (Melbourne & London). Buckley & Nunn was a store established in Melbourne in 1851 as a drapery store and, in its heyday, competed as a department store with Myer (1900). They occupied a succession of buildings in Bourke Street until they were taken over by David Jones in 1982. It features;
- Solid walnut timber construction
- circa 1900
- exquisitely hand-carved
- 5 bevel edge mirrors
- turned mirror-back supports
- suspended shelves
- central bow-front cabinet
- 2 bevel edge glass display doors
- complete & matching brass loop handles
- 3 locks, 1 key
- 2 fixed height level timber shelves (removable)
- suspended shelf base
- 2 pieces for easy transporting
- Makers stamp; Buckley & Nunn, Melbourne, In stock 1890

As expected on a piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock and surface marks but nothing major to note. In addition, there is minor spotting to the bottom right-hand side mirror.
