This magnificent complete, original and exquisitely crafted piece was made in Melbourne circa late 1800’s by A H Goon Brothers & Company cabinetmakers.  They were among the many Chinese who plied their trade along Little Lonsdale Street. There is a connection with such cabinet makers of the time based in Little Lonsdale St supplying Maple’s, presumably to supply the furniture retailer with cheap items for sale.
