This delightful chest of drawers was made by H. Eastgate, Brunswick Melbourne - it does not have a makers stamp, however we had one exactly the same recently, with the Eastgate makers stamp.  The Company was established in the early 1920’s by Harold Eastgate and continues to be a highly regarded manufacturer of quality furniture to this day.  It features;

·       oak timber & silky oak ply timber (sides & tops) construction

·       circa 1930’s

·       4 dovetail-joined drawers

·       complete & matching timber handles

·       lovely wood grain figuring

·       plinth base, square-cut back legs

Condition overview; in fair condition from a finish perspective, good condition structurally, relative to its age, it is a solid piece and all of the drawers work well.  As expected on a piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock (including to the top edge of the bottom drawer) and surface marks (particularly to the front base).
