This fabulous pair of beautifully crafted bedsides, we believe to be Japanese in design and possibly make (judging by the characters – if you know please let us know! 😊) however, we cannot be certain of this.  They feature;

• elm timber & elm timber veneer construction
• superb pagoda tops
• 2 drawers with red felt-lined bases
• lined internal cabinets with Japanese (?) characters
• complete & matching brass bail handles
• central brass features with ring lock handles
• decorative brass hinge plates
• scalloped base
• shaped feet on a dual platform base

Condition overview; in good condition relative to their age, they are solid and sturdy pieces and the drawers, doors and ring locks all work well.  As to be expected on used vintage pieces, they display general wear, knock and surface marks.
