A superb example of Australian crafted and designed furniture, this beautifully crafted piece was made in Collingwood Melbourne by highly regarded cabinet makers of the time; Hunt Son & Oliver, established around 1937.  It features;

• maple timber & maple timber veneer construction
• circa 1950’s
• fabulous angular front-facing edging
• beautifully crafted round timber knobs
• 4 dovetail-joined drawers
• 2 glass sliding doors
• mirror back, sides & base to the glass display
• single fixed height glass shelf (removable)
• tapered & splayed legs

Condition overview; in good condition, relative to its age, the sliding doors and drawers all work well.  There are no cracks or chips in the mirrors or glass.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, knock and surface marks.  In addition, there are some age-related changes to the veneer on the drawer fronts, however it can only be seen in a certain light (hence photographed this area in a different light to try to capture the affected area as best as I could).

Dimensions; 1365mm wide x 435mm deep x 760mm high.  Shelf height clearances from top to bottom; 270mm, 275mm.  Internal depth; 385mm deep.
