This superb piece, made in Melbourne by Perfection Furnishers in Balaclava, features;

• 6 turned legs w bun feet

• makers stamp; Perfection Furnishers, Balaclava – we could not find much on the history of the Company except that they had afire at their workshop in Balaclava in 1938 and there was a situations vacant ad in The Age 1955

Condition overview; in fair to good condition, relative to its age, it is a sturdy, beautifully crafted piece.  The doors, drawers, locks and key all work well.  There are no cracks or chips in the leadlight glass.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays age-related and general wear, tear, knock and surface marks.  We believe it may have been re-finished at some point resulting in quite an inconsistent finish. 

Dimensions; 1525mm wide x 485mm deep x 1140mm high (excluding backing board; 1020mm high).  Internal shelf height clearances from top to bottom; left-hand & right-hand sides; 360mm, 310mm.  Centre; 295mm, 280mm.  Internal depth – bow front ends; 465mm deep, centre; 385mm deep
