This superb desk, made in Melbourne by H.A. Branchflower, is finished on the back as well, therefore it can be placed anywhere in a room, not just limited to being against a wall.  H.A. Branchflower were specialists in quality modern and period furniture design and production.  In 1936, they were based in Guildford Lane, near Latrobe Street, in Melbourne. It features;

Condition overview; in good condition, it is a solid, sturdy and very well-made piece.  The drawers, filing slide and locks all work well.  As expected on a used piece of this vintage, it displays general wear, tear, knock (including to the veneer on the third drawer down on the left-hand side pedestal) and surface marks but nothing major to note.

Dimensions; 1295mm wide x 680mm deep x 785mm high. Knee hole; 630mm high x 445mm wide.
